John Y, except for switching to 17s, is the final spec the same as in this thread?

Well, I pulled the trigger..

As a former 987 base owner, I still think that model is the best bang for the buck offered by Porsche.

Btw, John Y, I know it's too late now, but I live in NYC area also and drive through the city every day and 18"s are fine for me.

I'll let you a drive or ride if you want to see

Thanks - yeah, ultimately it came down to the somewhat better comfort that the 17s offer (especially on a non-PASM car) and my desire to reduce unsprung weight and rotational mass on a car without a whole hell of a lot of torque, like ours. It probably borders on the obsessive, but hey - that's me!

I probably could live with the 18- in. ride and still like the design better, I also think they look like more of a "right" size for the proportions of this car. But the 17s have grown on me, and I really kind of like the 'retro' high sidewall look.

Almost - the switch to 17s, and I opted for sand beige instead of black, under the weight of popular opinion...will probably add a forest green rear center console from Bumper Plugs in the future, too; I tried too late to add it to my order.

Can't wait to pick it up and start logging some miles!

Thank you, Bavarian Motorist, gave 987 owners something to talk about.
Now we can "group buy" something!
