When people risk their lives, shouldn't it be for something very important?
Well, it better be.
But what is so important about driving faster than anyone else?
Lots of people go through life doing things badly. Racing's important to men who do it well.
When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting.

I've got the Porsche roof model, and I'm very happy with it. I found it on ebay for around $500, but then I bought another tray so I could carry two bikes. For the second tray, I had to drill a couple of holes and permanently mount it, but this worked out well. It's extremely secure. Doing it this way, the passenger side tray is fixed to the cross members, and I can remove the tray, crossmembers, and passenger side "hoop" as one piece. Then, the other hoop comes off by itself. The whole rack essentially breaks down into two pieces, an I can get it on and off the car by myself in about five minutes. When the weather is good, I'll use it once or twice a week. I've carried all kinds of bikes (XC, road, DH) with no hassles.

I do kinda like the Bird Automotive bike rack. I had thought it would be nice to get something that goes on the back. The Porsche roof rack looks nice, but it seems to me it might be a little bit of a PITA to install.... AND... if you put it on with the top up, you can't put the top down.

I'd like to be able to take my bike down to Zilker Park... but it's a little tough to cough out $400 to move a bike that cost $130. hahaha!

Thanks for all the great info. I do like the over the top rack, but too much $$. I think I will go with the Bird Automotive model. I really like that set up.
Thanks again!
