The car holds up to 9.5 quarts of oil! There is no need to change it EVERY 3,000 miles. Sounds like a waste to me.

Bosxter7, there are some great threads about this topic. You should do a few searches. There are some strong opinions that changing too early is actually not good. The magic number is around 7,500 miles or yearly.
