I also have a MY 2000 (Arctic Silver).

I guess our MY 2000s are going up in value!!!

In fact in the April 2006 issue of Consumer Reports (Car issue), it was the only Porsche to make the Reliable used cars list for the $24,000 to $28,000 dollar range. Maybe that's the reason why the MY 2000s are going up in value.

Plus, the car passed 100+ point inspection, the dealership had just done the yearly service, put on four new tires, and the service records showed that the car had had its 15k, 30k, and 45k services, as well as all of its yearly services.

I asked the dealership to eat part of the cost of the replacement interior trim pieces, but they weren't biting as there were two other people in line behind me wanting to buy the car if I chose not to.

Oh, well. Live and learn I guess. I don't really care as I love driving the car.

I think you made all the right decisions. $19k + (serv done, new tires etc). I wouldn't recommend any Porsche without warranty! Interior trims are not good deal., but there's no such a thing, PERFECT. I'd say you got 'near' perfect deal. Congrats!

No offense but used Boxster values are not increasing over the prices seen for the SAME cars, SAME condition during the SAME time last year.

If you don't believe me, go get an appraisal from your local dealer on your used Boxster and after you gasp at the low number he gives you, ask HIM where values have gone since last Jan.

Not gonna happen, sorry!

I picked up my 02 S this winter, wholesale for $19k. Silver on black, sport seats, supple leather, upgraded audio (coming out very soon anyway but worth mentioning for price), 17" turbo look wheels, 70k on the clock (owned by a pharm rep previously). Body and interior are real clean, just has miles. Absolutely gorgeous when up on the lift. I dont mind the miles, as it will be getting a 3.6 sooner or later in its life, and the rest of the car is pristine and I'm thrilled to be starting from a factory S when I do the motor swap.

I'd find it hard to believe that 986 prices would be going up, but if they are, fantastic for all of us.
