Looking for the mesh wind guards that go behind the seats

I recently had a buddy in the car riding shotgun who is 6'5", and he pushed the seat so far back that it popped out the mesh wind guard that goes behind the seat. I didn't notice it was gone until the next day, so I was forced to remove the other one so it didn't look strange. I'm pretty sure the missing one ended up on the street somewhere.

I need to buy a new one, but I'm not sure exactly what they're called, or where (other than my local Porsche parts dept.) I can get one. Any help here? I'm specifically looking for one, or a pair, for a 2002 986.

Here's what I'm talking about:

Or do you think I should leave them off? I sort like the look without them, but can't tell how effective they are in blocking wind/noise.

Thanks!

That is one of the first things the salesman told me about when I bought the car...

**Also be careful when cleaning the removable peice of glass between the headrest. Sometimes you can knock it out of place and with one good gust of wind...BAM!**

Our car is not designed for people over 6'2....or fat chicks

I'm kind of newbie here, but doesn't Boxster look better without them?

Hiya,

I personally drove for a couple weeks without the mesh in the headrests.

Didnt notice any real difference. Drove at highway speeds here in Europe 100-125 mph and no big difference, however take the windstop out and you cant drive at these high speeds. too uncomfortable and noisy.

If you rarely go over 60mph and prefer the look of them out then leave them.

I am partial to the look without, but hey, each to their own.

It is a matter of preference, I guess and could possibly depend on the colour of the rollbar.
Mine's black so the mesh looks pretty good imho.

Good thing it's a decision that's easily reversible.

Shouldn't your Sasquatch-sized buddy be conducting this search?

Jinijazz, that is one clean looking 986...reminescent of the original prototype.

Thanks. It's not mine anymore, replaced with 987 now.
Speaking of 987, white is especially looking sharp on 987. I can guess it looks even better with all the expensive interior trims in your car.
