Exhaust Mod

I am interested in getting a bit more sound from the exhaust on the boxster, so I was looking into potentially getting a new exhaust, like the fabspeed system. However, the cost is a bit prohibitive $1500.

I happen to come across this post on a Cayman board regarding a mod being done to create a gap in the exhaust system and change the overall sound. Just curious if anyone has actually tried this.

Also, for the more technical members, is there any harm in trying this.

Thanks.

If you want to go that route, at least try it. And if you like it, buy some bypass valves so you can close it when you want. I think its worth a try.
