I think they will always look good on any boxster. I on the other hand think they cost too much.

djomlas 01-15-2007 04:47 PM

they kinda do, as much as it costs to get a whole new bumper with them on on fleebay

CJ_Boxster 01-15-2007 04:49 PM

True, if you find any for a decent price, let me know ok.

boggtown 01-15-2007 04:53 PM

Ive got some, they look good, but not a huge difference.

yeah i know, I seen your pictures, i guess black doesnt really show too much detail except when its dirty, then you can see every little speck of dirt on the car.

I like them. And wish the 987 had them. Porsche gave them to the Cayman:

Looks only, on our cars. There was a very high-tec discussion about this on RennTech a few weeks back.

unklekraker 01-15-2007 05:22 PM

THANKS, B!
If it's only for the looks, it really looks good...looking at the pix posted by dj, w/out the diffuser, it's kinda rear naked..hehehehehehe!

I think it looks totally cool and really great on your car especially because of the color. But like what other people say, I think they cost too much. Are they easy to install? Do you need to drill holes or anything like that to install them?

Jeph 01-15-2007 05:40 PM

It looks good. Nice P-chop too. I think the euro bumper (bumperette-less) would be a more noteworthy upgrade. Then strap a diffuser to that.

(P1.V1)/A1 = (P2.V2)/A2
now it makes a lot of sense, all i have to do is break down this formula and i'm good to go...hehehehe! j/k!

so, it does have a purpose on a certain cars but mainly looks for our boxster. not bad, better than 747 wing on the rear....

Djomlas,

Those look good on your car. If you keep the standard bumper without diffusers, what would look fantastic but is a little pricey is if you would put a Porsche sports exhaust on there, with the dual tips and dual pipes that show underneath the car from behind. The old style one, not the new style one. Take care,

Mike

It depends on what kind you buy. The ones I bought use the existing holes in the bumper and are a straight bolt on without drilling holes.

I bought them to complete the back end and block the view of the transmission now that my aftermarket muffler makes the rear end's mechanicals so visible.

Sadly, I have no pix to show anyone yet because the friggin' body shop I want to use said "we're swamped for two weeks. Don't bring the pieces in for a good long while."

Time for another body shop I think!

bmussatti 01-15-2007 05:58 PM

Djomlas, did you paint your bumperettes yet? I agree with Jeph, our cars look better without the bumperettes.

boggtown 01-15-2007 05:59 PM

How do yours use only stock holes? Mine use THE 2 stock bolts and you drill one hole by the exhaust tip. Where else could you attach it?

djomlas 01-15-2007 06:07 PM

i didnt paint anything yet

Grizzly 01-15-2007 10:36 PM

Here are mine, DJ. I like them. This isn't the best picture, but you get the idea. I also painted the bumperettes and put the twin exhaust tips on it like Mike mentioned.
