Thanks, I dont have the trim rings yet. I couldnt decide wether to get rid of the cd storage or the tiny area under it. Nice thing is the gauge piece can just be moved up if I change my mind about placement, jury is still out on that one.

As a Porsche owner I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for not putting that gauge in a pillar pod.

if theres one thing i hate its the pillar pod and blue or any other color glowing gauges on the side, yuk

Maybe he should grow out a moustache, put some black steel wheels on, and wear a derby hat whenever he scoots around town. But I dont think he has enough room for his victrola to fit in his car. Oh well...

So... monitoring your boost pressure is a ricer modification?
I suppose Porsche are ricers for installing a water temperature gauge in the factory cluster.

Hi,
Not at all. A Boost Gauge is useful, but not when it's mounted on the floor. On the floor, it could even be said to be unsafe because it is a dynamic gauge, you have to be looking at it when the boost is being produced for it to have any value. This takes the Driver's eyes off the Road at a time when the car is under boost and therefore supposedly going fast.
The Boost Gauge on my Lotus Esprit is right dead-center on the Instrument Binnacle (see below) as is the OEM Porsche Boost gauge. At this location is it useful and safe. A gauge mounted on the floor is superfluous, there for the Bling. Bling, IMHO, can equate to ricer...

I took your advice and revamped my dash a little. You were so right that single boost gauge was so bling and outrageous.
