bad clicker? trunk and hood won't unlock

so my clicker started acting up. Time for a new one I guess as its been six years.
I changed the battery but no dice, alarm won't activate.
Now this weekend the trunk and hood wouldn't open. Somehow it unlocked.
And then I went if for gas and the fuel lid wouldn't open.
I pulled the rip cord behind the passenger door to manualy open the fuel lid and oooops the rip cord snaped right out. Now its unlocked all the time (don't steal my gas its expensive again!)

so is my door issue a bad clicker? Luckily I have a spare 996 clicker that will hopefuly work.

i'm having the same problem... help- keyless entry stopped working!

Everything functions properly for me when i use the key in the lock. See if yours does as well. Hopefully we can find someone who has had this happen to them and find out what the fix was and how much it cost!!! (ie: I may be doing it manually from now on!)

In my younger diy days (when things were less computerized), I recall a flathead screwdriver adjustment inside the remote on an old Ungo Box alarm I had. It needed occasional adjustment to sync with the brain unit for optimum performance (dial in for strongest signal). ...I doubt it's that easy anymore!

Yeah I had to get by this holiday weekend with just the key. I'm going to call the dealer and ask about a new clicker. From my last visit I know that reprograming the clicker is a one time charge of $80 for all your keys, same price if its one or three. Good thing I didn't have it done then because my clickers have all had it except for my new one.
I first panicked when the trunk locked because the New Year's eve party was in the trunk!
