Fuel System Help

Hello forum,

After replacing the fuel sending unit, this old nipple cracked inside the connector which I had to drill out. The result is that the connection while there isn't clicked in as before. I didn't take the 'after' picture as I was frustrated from install and putting the battery back on.

I've looked in the catalogues and couldn't find this part in the diagram.

First, can someone identify this part and two, as long as it is seated should this have much impact on the system as a whole until replaced.

Thanks!

I think that’s the vent line for the fuel tank. It connects to the filler neck. You’ll need to get a new line because those hardline hoses are molded to the connectors. If you cut or heat it, the new connector won’t fit tight and you’ll get a check engine light for gaving an evaporator system leak.
