So today I removed the brakes lines I need for my ABS upgrade (ABS 5.3 to 5.7 which needs the additional rear brake line) from the wreck. Overall they are in good condition, so I will swap these over to my car. But as you would expect, the coating on these lines is damaged, mainly at the places where they are clipped in. Some surface rust shows, nothing deep or pitted.
The question would be, should I give these areas any specific care before installing them on my car?
The ones I have now are the left front (easy to replace anytime needed) and the two running towards the back. Right front is not easily accessible, but I will check the condition of the line on my car and decide whether swapping is worth it. In that case, I might get a new one as I'm unlikely to pull all of that apart again

Just another question, related to this. I will swap my calipers out (base brakes) for S versions. Main reason is that my current calipers are painted red, but not very well. So the paint fades and is chipped, really looking pad. Secondary reason that they might be more suitable for future power upgrades. Anyway, is a caliper rebuild a must, a good thing to do, or unnecessary? If rebuild, I guess just the seals, right?
