Stripped threads at forward chassis mount of the rear trailing link

Hi all, I had the unfortunate discovery today on my 1998 Boxster that the right hand front mount for the rear trailing link is stripped. I found the front bolt hanging down as shown in the picture. No wonder my car has been shaking at freeway speeds.

The question is how to fix it. It seems like the upper plate has something similar to an encapsulated rivnut attached to it. I don't think I can drill it out and install a helical coil or time-sert because the lower plate has a hole just large enough for the bolt to pass through. I am thinking I might need to remove the upper bracket and weld on a used one. Any good ideas would be welcome, thanks.
