your honest opinion on this

id like to paint the centers of my wheels a graphite color, like this
please let me know if you think this would look nice, i photoshopped this the closest i could, but of course if i were to do this for real results would look more realistic :)
i liked the limited edition james dean one a lot, but not a fan of those wheels.

I prefer the stock color. Not really into graphite wheels.

I would leave the car stock cosmetic wise,it looks real nice as is.

ohioboxster 12-24-2006 12:32 AM

I just want to know how your so good at Photoshop. I like the wheel color by the way.

Boxtaboy 12-24-2006 04:20 AM

I think the graphite color wheels look nice. What I really think would give a nice improvement, however, is to remove the amber lenses on your car. The amber evokes an 80s kinda look. If not remove them for the clear, maybe black them out with window tint? JMHO

z12358 12-24-2006 04:30 AM

Keep the stock wheels. Car looks great already. Why add an extra color that doesn't match anything else on the car?

YellowPorscheMan2002 12-24-2006 05:18 AM

Go ahead and paint the wheels dude, if it makes you happy. The car looks great as is, but anything you do to differentiate it more, with some exceptions, is great.

I wanted to paint my wheels yellow, but I don't know how or what kind of paint to use. If you can provide advice I would appreciate.

Merry Christmas!

KevinH1990 12-24-2006 05:21 AM

I think the wheels look striking as they are - I wish I had a set.

However, I understand that part of the fun of Porsche ownership is modifying the car to suit your taste. If you don't like the graphite look, can you return it to stock easily? If you can, why not try the graphite look for a while? It's your car.

AUDIOGUY 12-24-2006 06:32 AM

Any other color than Black or Silver I would say no to this. I think your Green color is enhanced by the clean silver wheels.
Stay with what you have!

I actually second this opinion, I'd deamber first....I think I like your stock wheels more

jwilson95 12-24-2006 08:04 AM

I say keep 'em stock because the graphite seems to close down the wheel and make them look smaller. The graphite on the 550 James Dean Boxster are 18's and are more open.

I also like the de-amber idea for your car due to the exotic color. Then maybe the graphite would be more desirable to me, but the de amber would set your car off with much less $$ invested.

Just another guy's opinion...

I like the look, plus brake dust will not show!!!

djomlas 12-24-2006 08:54 AM

well....
painting wheels 30 bux.
deamber....well you do the math

i just like that look, ill have to wait till it gets warmer so i can paint those, but who knows. its jsut an idea

01slowbox 12-24-2006 09:12 AM

i actually like the amber look with that color. About the wheels, I like them better than the stock ones, but i was wondering what it would look like with the side intake vents black also to match (it might look stupid I just cant picture it so I'm gonna go do some crappy job of photoshop by cutting and pasting because thats all I know how to do)

Jeph 12-24-2006 10:09 AM

De-amber, tint, & lower... repeat.

I'm a huge fan of dark rims. But I don't know if it's either the rims or the color of your car that's not making it flow together (to me anyway). I see you gave yourself S brakes too.

I like the silver wheels, graphite wheels just look like dirty silver rims to me....

I was comparing it to your pix at FQuick pictures, which I guess are pre-caliper painting?

boggtown 12-24-2006 03:10 PM

I dont care what you do, just never do chrome. A sports car should never have chrome wheels, ever. Polished is ok, Ive seen some Fikse wheels which are OK, but anything else should be destroyed.

djomlas 12-24-2006 04:13 PM

in all the pics there car has red calipers... im confused
