What's that smell?

I know, if i spent more time driving the thing rather than sniffing it....
Anyway, after a run, I smelled something coming from the engine (?) and went to the vent on the passenger side. Definitely intensified.

On the off-chance there are more sniffers out there, should there be any smell coming from the vent?

Can you describe the smell? Do it in the style of Rober Frost... and GO!

Is your car a NEW car? Many new cars have some cosmoline applied to engine parts for shipping to prevent corrosion. I believe I read that Porsche does that.

It'll smell like something burning, but not like engine oil or gasoline. It will eventually burn off.

well if you smelled it from the vent thats where all the exess heat is being released from engine bay, so you know where its coming from.

what's it smell like?

The smell is a rubbery smell. That's the best way I can describe it...
