Tricky roof electrical issue

So I've had my 98 boxster for 4 years and the roof has worked fine all that time other than needing the drive cables replaced which I did.

I noticed it stopped working a few months ago but hadn't time to look at it until recently. I've been through the checklist with a multimeter checking the relay pin sockets and test 8 is where the issue is. (Top unlocked, pins 13 & 23 - microswitch closed, convertible top lid open). I get 0v when it should be battery voltage.

I've taken the latch unit out of the car and tested it and I get continuity between the middle and one outer pin when the latch is open and continuity between the middle and other outer pin when it is closed so that is working as expected.

I have bridged the pins on the connector and I still get 0v so I believe there is either a bad connection or that wire is being earthed somewhere.

Is there anywhere in particular to look without pulling the interior apart?

I feel like the easiest solution is to cut off the 13 pin on the relay and bridge with 15 (handbrake up). Conveniently these are right beside eachother on the board so should be an easy "fix".

Obviously bypassing the roof latch switch isn't ideal but it feels like the best compromise.

Any other suggestions / alternative fixes?
