Frunk release cable

I took my bumper off last week to clean the radiators/condensers. When I got to the black plastic strip with the 4 blacks tabs I dropped one. Well I went out that night and opened the frunk to look around. I couldn’t find. So a couple days later I get a replacement. Well when I go to open the frunk, noise but no pop. Car will start and trunk will open. So I partially remove front right fender liner and look inside for a cable/wire. I reach my hand up and in and run along where the headlight meets the fender. Nothing. Any chance it could be on the left side? Seems more logical to me since I think the motor to open frunk is located.
Thanks.
David

When I took bumper off my other box, I noticed the owner rerouted the cable. It’s. 99 where the one with the issue is a 02. The 02 has only been worked on by dealership so not sure they would move.

Looking at the Bentley book, it appears the latch changed in 2000 (mechanical to electrical), could that be why the wire could be on the lef?. I watched some video where the guy open the frunk from the left so maybe it is there.
For now, I decided to get a charger to try and juice the battery and try again. Car has been sitting since November and I’ve opened the hood multiple times. Car does start so likely not. I just don’t feel like pulling the liner. It’s not too bad but lots of old plastic.
