I’m Trying To Be A Good Forum Member…

Hello,
I’m trying to be a good member with my posts/responses but I can’t figure out what I MUST be doing wrong.

I have succinct titles with clear conveyance.
My write-up(s) use proper English, correct punctuation and clear expression. No ambiguity and certainly nothing of controversy.

I am often able to start a thread and when posting a response I am met with a message stating that my post/reply will be delayed in publishing until it is reviewed by the admins. Ok, I get it. Some level of oversight could be considered reasonable for a public forum but I can’t see why my posts/replies NEVER pass muster. I have attempted to reach out to the admins via a couple of the ways I think this board is set up and have never had a response. I have no idea where any of my comms go after I hit submit.

This latest instance is in response to a post I put up yesterday and got a very solid reply by Burg Boxster. I attempted to thank him/her/she/him/shim for the quick reply and asked for an opinion on a YouTube video that I found relevant to the very specific question and included the link. I even gave guidance on the specific time in the video that is/was relevant to be helpful. I know how the world works. Put in some effort (or at least make it seem so) before you put your hand out for assistance AND make it easy for folks to help you.

I wrote my reply in the forum text box, previewed the message to verify that the link worked and all looked good and hit “Post Reply.” And guess what I got? I’m still waiting for the benevolent admins to review and, with any luck, approve my post.

So, what am I doing wrong?

This Boxster owner would like to know,
Morgan

Do you have a VPN ? I don't know if this is a cause.

Low posting count is my guess. Prevents spam and fraud postings. Automated and then a human must get to reviewing it. Recall what you are paying for the forum ... it isn't someone's full time job I'd bet.

But then how did the passports one above get through?

When I use a VPN I can't connect to one of the US p-car forums. The rest allow it. Sorry, forget which one.

Highly unlikely. You haven't seen the new Japanese/Chinese posts?

We have no moderators. They don't exist. We've part-time mod-participants who must choose between mowing the lawn, or monitoring these pages for miscreants, deviants, and posers (you can find them on the Rennlist pages).

To OP... welcome to the forum.

Howdy,
Nope, no VPN.
I gots a cable TV provided connection, a Toyota Camry styled name-brand router and a newish Win11 PC. I’m a simple creature.

That’s certainly a possibility but it is also a Catch-22. How does one increase their post count to some unknown threshold if their posts are consistently not posted? What the secret number is (if there is one) and getting feedback on why a post was not allowed seams to be quite elusive.

To quote and paraphrase many forum posters before me, “this ain’t my first forum.”
This is not the first, not the last and certainly won’t be the only forum that offers a service free to the users so I don’t buy it, pun intended.
From my previous post re bumper covers, Burg Boxster came back via private message (since my public message board response was not posted…) and mentioned he had heard of what is happening to me in the past but had no other info.

Somebody’s gotta be doing something with turning the knobs. How was I allowed to sign-up AND get the confirmation email back confirming same? As before, this inquiring Boxster owner would like to know.

Thanks for the welcome.
I’ve been here about 1.5 years and had one MAYBE 2 successful posts and several that I submitted only to be greeted by the message that my submission was going to be reviewed before being posted. Those never happened and I have never received info as to what caused the non-posting.

Maybe one of the mystery moderators will stop by after taking down Christmas lights, see this post and chime in. All calls and emails to Pelican Parts (and pleading with the sales folks that have taken my money for parts and, albeit shipped ‘em…) have gone nowhere. I am thinking of creating a new account/profile and see what happens. Hell, it won’t cost me nuttin’!
