Non stock tips on a stock muffler

Has anyone added not stock tips to a post 2002 986 muffler? I want to replace my stock 02 S muffler with a 2003-2004 muffler. The thought is I can remove the tips and add non stock. Has anyone done this? Wondering what I need to do.

I didn't know that there were aftermarket tips for those, but I found one on eBay that looks custom fabricated.


The tips have a lip that fits into a slot on the muffler and a single bolt that clamps it in from the bottom. Easy to remove or swap out if you have one that is made or adapted to fit the same way.

I'm not a very good welder/fabricator, but I could probably slag one together pretty easily. A good muffler shop should be able to handle it if you have a tip and explanation.

Seems this might be more than I thought. I was thinking i could get a pipe that either fit in or around the muffler exit pipes.
Sounds like I just need to find a muffler shop to handle. Thanks.
