Chasing cylinder 1-3 misfire and timing codes. Pulled cams on bank 1 found wear pads pretty worn….ton of green rubber caught in the plunger locking variocam engaged all the time in bank 1. Has anyone actually disassembled one of these? I can’t figure out for the life of me how to get the internals out due to a large retaining ring. I know there are rebuild kits available which means they come apart. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
