LED Side Marker Sequential Turn Signal Blinker Lights - anyone installed these?

I'm wondering if anyone has installed these?

I'm a bit unclear as to how they actually work, the stock side marker lights on my 2002 986 have no indicator functionality, they're just on all the time. Are these LED somehow magically adding that feature?

That function is for ROW cars that have the markers as turn signals. I’m installing a set on my 996 and should just function as basic markers unless I decided to change the wiring.

I did install a set in my Boxster and, as expected, they function as marker lights only and not blinkers. They still feel like an upgrade to me. Not only because the lenses on my OEM lights were looking a bit tired but also because the led's illuminate the whole lens, which looks better to my eye than the single bulb at one end of the originals.
