"Clack" when de-parking after front Koni strut intall.

After replacing front struts, I hear a metalic "clack", just once, when backing out of a parking space, even with little or no turning of the wheel.

I'm thinking the sound may be caused by a replacement part I added that wasn't there before: "Porsche Support Ring for Shock Absorber Bearing Plate Genuine Porsche"

This part showed up in the recommended associated parts when I order strut mounts. I wasn't sure what it was and thought I would figure it out when I dissasembled and reassembled the struts, but my old assembly did not have this part. I couldn't find any clear images of strut assembly using it. It seemed to fit well between the bearing plate and the spring so that's where I put it.

Does anyone have experience with this part? Is it optional? I'm thinking of taking them back off to make the noise go away.
