Send your Shift knob Ideas

Send your shift knob recommendations and pics!

Recently my shift boot / knob has been becoming more worn just due to usage and from the previous owner beating it up. I cant seem to find this specific one anywhere so I was thinking about going another route with the same colour. If any of you have recommendations or examples for alternatives thatd be sick!

this is my old one for reference. Kind of want to get a new type but in the same color spec / area

adding onto this, does anyone happen to know if its possible to source these without trying to find it off a parts car ? i really do like this one and im also not sure if its something that can be repaired on the knob itself

I have also been looking at other porsche knobs and really like some of the later years though im unsure if theyll actually fit. Does anyone also happen to know which years are compatible with the 986 ?

Here's one that would go nicely in your car that I saw in this thread: https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/shift-knobs-what-do-we-like/179156/page1/
(not mine, don't know where to get it.)

There's also some knobs in that thread made from recycled skateboard decks - cool colored laminated wood.

That first one is gorgeous! I really do like the style of the wooden knobs i've been seeing around though i'm not sure WHERE exactly to even go for those. I'll keep lookin but i really have been thinking about ones exactly like that one

There's some nice ones on etsy.com, but it's hard to find ones specifically for the 986 shift lever. You could modify one or ask the seller to make one to fit. Also lots of options for custom leather shifter boots there.

these are some great examples! it's a shame there aren't resto kits for the OE ones tho just bc the one i have now is gorgeous but that leather is just dead now. regardless i might move forward with one of these options just from how amazing they look
