Unhappy Fix Radio Hack Job

Hey Everyone,

I went to install a PCCM+ unit and was in for quite the surprise with the PO's aftermarket single din install. What is the best way to revert this back to OEM to plug into the PCCM+?

The A connector is still there and could be rewired, but the B connector has been hacked off along with the antenna connector.

Thinking I could rewire the A connector and order a new B connector, but I can't find that part online (if it even exists - anyone know the part #?). As for the antenna connector, at a loss for what to do with the spliced mess.

What are your thoughts on the best way to rectify the situation?

Depends on the original configuration. If you have an amplifier then the B connector never existed. The amplifier preamp outputs are on the C (yellow) connector.

Look here: https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Boxster_Tech/88-ELEC-Radio_Install/88-ELEC-Radio_Install.htm-

If you never had an amplifier then the speakers were wired directly to the head unit and you can recreate the B connector as the plug socket is the same as the A connector.

Thanks for the reply - looks like I did overlook the fact that there is a factory HAES amp. I imagine it will be possible to rewire the A connector to plug into the PCCM+, but not sure what to do about the missing C. Do you know what the part #/OEM C plug name is so I can order a new one (if that's even possible)? Suppose I could also 3D print the plug to throw pins in if someone has the measurements.

You need an iso harness. You can get an iso a/b harness here:

https://a.co/d/fe8bOdo

c (yellow) is part of a mini iso cde combo plug. C and D are 6 way plugs. E is an 8 way plug. Here is a link for a c plug

I think these are available in other places. ISO plugs are standard so you just need to know what to search for. Also here

You rock! This is my first radio install and I could not figure out what these connectors were called to find new ones. Now I'll be able to order and get things squared away - thank you
