I've used the Meguiar's product as shown in the video and I can attest that it does work, even if by doing by hand and with some level of medium effort. I did notice an immediate change, so I imagine having a polisher will yield favourable results, as evidenced in the video.

My biggest fear, doing it by hand, was applying too much pressure on the plastic window and completely destroying it. I'm now convinced the polisher is a safer option.
