seat travel

My seat is at the rear most stop and I would like to get it to move back just a bit further. Has anyone been able to move their seats back beyond the rear most stop? Is the pedal cluster able to be moved t all. Is there an aftermarket steering wheel that might be a bit smaller diameter? I'm guessing not because of the airbag. Lots of questions from the new guy.
Cheers, Elliot

Have you adjusted the height of the seat cushion? I am not particularly tall (5'8") but my seat is all the way back and the seat back hits the roll bar, so it can't go further back. Recently a much taller guy tried the car and by lowering the seat cushion he was able to fit in.

You gain a lot of room by lowering the seat all the way. I’m 6 feet, wife is 5’4” - I drive with the seat dropped all the way down, when my wife drives she raises the seat all the way and she’s good, no other adjustments need be made.

In the 986 the seat travel is restricted by the rear back wall. If you need more room, try a 996 – same seat mechanism, but a lot more leg room.

Good question. My 2000 Boxster seat could move back a bit more than the seat on my current 2004 Boxster S. I think the seat hardware might be all the same, but the seat back may be thicker on the newer model car and giving me less room. Just a thought.

Thew only fix I have seen for tall people is something called console delete. It allows your right leg to splay out further to the right. .Lowering the seat can help too. But that bulkhead is not going to move behind the seat.
