I used the string method when I changed tie rods on my shark. Set the height of the string so it runs thru the wheel center.







Then measure the difference from the string to the front and back of the wheel - the green lines in this pic



Write them down and work towards the front being 1/16" longer than the rear. This will give you the needed tow in requirement.



This should get you in the ball park for your 50 mi journey. Before heading out that far, drive around the neighborhood and see how it feels.
