boxster heated seats

Hi I find the basic seats in my 986 uncomfortable, they are the basic type partially electric seat. A friend of mine had a much more comfortable set in his boxster 986 which was the same age vehicle on a 2003 plate. Is it possible to fit factory heated seats in or maybe 987 type ones?

Are the airbags and seats mechanically and electronically compatible?

Swapping 987 seats into a 986 is pretty common. It's actually something I'm looking to do right now. There are a handful of tutorials out there on the install process.
