Blend Door Repair

I know there are several methods to accomplish this. The easiest I've seen, at least on videos, is removing the radio/AC panel, cutting the center duct, and covering the blend doors with HVAC aluminum tape. The other method of going through the box from the frunk looks sketchy to me, especially when you have to Dremel out the plastic that holds the door hinge pins. Removing the entire dash is out of the question.

I'm sure folks have done the two versions that don't require dash removal, so is the method through the radio/AC panel the most straightforward?

I prefer the 'behind the radio' method. I do it from the frunk only if I'm also replacing the heater core.

I did it a few+ years ago, through the radio panel whatever... NOT through the frunk which looked like a PITA. However, if I were working in the heater core, then it might be a good time to just do it though the frunk.

Through the dash... slightly time consuming but otherwise gravy.

I figured mine had to be gone so I went behind the radio. Turns out my foam was still in pristine condition, surprisingly.

Thanks gang....Being in Florida, I've been wanting to do this since I bought the car. Glad to hear that folks have had success with the "behind-the-radio" method. I need to get it on the schedule with summer coming. I had a lot of foam coming through the vents for a while, so I'm sure it's all gone by now.
