you need a freight company for pieces that large. They'll probably charge about $150. Check your local companies on Yahoo.

Nah, c'mon dude.

First, you have to get a box, or make one. You want it to be as close to the actual size of the bumper as possible because your package size and weight determine your cost. Then go to Fedex's website and check the rate for shipping your package by Fedex Home Delivery You'll need the dimensions of your box and the weight. You'll also need to open an account with them. It takes about 10 minutes, but it's free. Put in the particulars of your package, pay on-line and print your label. Tomorrow, drop it off at one of their locations and you're done.

I just shipped a 986 bumper a few weeks ago from Maryland to Texas for $86.00

yeah Fedex didn't think of them. I've sent out via UPS and they charged me $30 to send out a box big enough to fit one of those ionic breeze air filters.
How did you make a box big enough for a bumper? Those things are huge.
I sold a bunch of things bike related, and man what a hassle trying to find boxes big enough to be able to cut into a even bigger box. I looked behind furniture stores, applicance stores, home despot moving department, and a whole bunch of bike shops. Ended up spending more money on gas than I made selling the stuff!

I cheated. I bought a 996 bumper from LA Porsche Dismantlers. It came in a perfect box.

My brother and I sell a lot of stuff on ebay and often make odd sized boxes from cut down appliance boxes. Check around new apartment complex and townhouse projects when the appliances are starting to be installed.

I remember someone shipping one using Greyhound, said it was the best deal by far. You have to pack it up and take it to the bus I think and, I think, it has to be picked up at the other end too. IIRC though it was much cheaper than the other carriers.

Another option might be to call a dealer such as Sunset and see who they use but they often have arrangements with local companies.

Good luck!

Chris.

I just bought that GT3 bumper and it cost 90 to ship, He said it was within one inch of being considered freight so you have to pack it as tight as possible.
