Design wise, this would be my all-time favourite hardtop...

Nice top.

Along with the race car top by Eric523, this thread reminded me of the top stelan was developing.

Master designer are you the eBay seller? Your pics look a lot like the ones on eBay and your description of how it comes off is the basically the same as the seller sent me.

78f350. That top Stellan was designing would be my top choice but that was well before I owned a Boxster. Wish he was still active here.

Personally, since I only drive mine about 1/2 the year and store it for the winter I almost never drive with the convertible top up unless i get caught in rain.

I don't like the "look" of the car (its lines) when the convertible top and the same goes for any of the hard top choices (after market or OEM). Since mine isn't a daily driver I can pick and choose the days it sees the road.

No, my father Built the molds and some friends are producing them, to buy one or or for other specifics you can contact them thru ebay.

I really tried to like the 987/Cayman, great exterior, but I wasn't a great fan of the interior (center console and 3-gauges dash cluster). Otherwise I would have switched to a Cayman.

I say it again, the 986 was the most versatile model Porsche ever released.

* Half a 996
* Boxster
* Spyder
* Half a Cayman with a Z-Top

And it is aging pretty well, same goes for the 996 now.

I've scoped out various hardtops, but to my eye the 986 looks better with a convertible top. But then, aesthetics are a personal thing. If someone produces a hardtop with an exterior that looks exactly like a convertible top, it might work for me. A cloudy back window would give it verisimilitude, but that might be going too far.
