Boxster Caliper Fell Off

Felt a bump and then horrible grinding noise coming from the left front wheel of my 98 Boxster 986.

I tow it home and look to see that the caliper had fallen off and got jammed between the rotor and wheel.

The caliper bolts were completely unscrewed.

Has anyone heard of this? Those bolts are threaded for 3-4 inches. How could they have both come unscrewed? Anyone have a similar experience?

I did a brake job on it a few years ago and replaced all the bolts on all four corners and used thread lock. The other three wheels are fine.
