To be honest, from the video i can't see anything wrong with the steering rack. Also to me the video doesn't make sense at all.

Exactly. When I went back after months to get the alignment finally done, I told the guy at the front desk that I think steering rack was fine and there was no point to replace it, but I replaced it anyway. He opened my case in the computer and pointed out this video, showing me this huge play. I was like, what play? Do you realize that the steering column is rotating in the background accordingly? Then he was thinking a bit about what he was looking at and said they were gonna look at the rack in the trunk.

After 2 hours I went back, the car was done, he said nothing about this, so I brought it up which ended up yelling at each other for a good 10 mins then I paid and left.

Basically they did what I paid for, but they didn't address a customer's concern, which is not very professional. They didn't look at the rack either...

Is there is a possibility that the rack mounting bolts were loose..?

Ther is, but they weren't loose.
