Check the crank position sensor, they are simple Hall effect units that tend to act up when they get hot.

This sounds like the first thig to look at. Pelican has three different ones to choose from:

This sounds exactly like when my fuel pump was failing. It was definitely atypical vs. any other fuel pump failure I’ve had in the past. I had a handful of hot no-start situations. In each case when the car was cooled it would then start. I had my daughter tow me near our house one time and the act of towing the car made it able to start. I also had 2-3 cases where it just stopped running while driving. Once it happened at a light and then was hard to restart. Another time it happened in a curve where I was pushing the car kinda hard and it made me spin out when the engine stopped abruptly at high RPM.

Anyway, it finally did it at home so I checked fuel pressure with a gauge and there was none. I jumpered the relay and there was still none. I replaced the fuel pump with one from O’Reilly and I haven’t had an issue since.

Btw, I was sure it was the CPS too so I replaced that first and it didn’t help with the problem.
