Side Skirts clarification

Hey yall.. sorry if this comes out as a dumb question, but Im looking to get more information and thought this group might be the best for help...

Question 1: Does the 986 boxster come with side skirts, (pictured below on my blue car) or are those just rocker panels.

I have parts #'s for the aerokit side skirts, (98655998400G2X) (98655998304G2X)

Question 2: What side skirt is this (986.559.980.00) I found this available on a parts site and when I cross referance Im seeing they are the aerokit. But then why are the numbers different? This leads me to belive that our cars come with a factory side skirt/rocker panel thats "flush to the body" ?

If they are the aerokit, i definately want to pull the trigger on them (hopefully no one on this site buys then now that Ive shared this info) lol

Thanks for the help

986.559.980.00 and 986.559.981.00 are the stock side skirts on a 2000 car.

(98655998400G2X) and (98655998304G2X) are aerokit parts:

I agree with what youve said, until i do more research and Im stuck back in a cirlcle.

My Blue base 986 doesnt have a side skirt, And if it does, then its flush to the car. When you look at the blue boxster, the side skirt is symetrical and smooth the entire length.

When you look at the silver car with aero kit, you can see a raised center of the side skirt that gradually blends out.

When I search 986.559.980.00 I have found aerokit parts. that are the same side skirts as the 98655998400G2X) and (98655998304G2X)

the yellow car had its side skirt listed for sale as part986.559.980.00

in grey is the parts i want to buy. The look to be the aerokit side skirts and imo nothing like my blue boxster skirts. But they have the 986.559.980.00 part number.

The side skirts on both the above cars are Aero kit 1. The Aero kit one also includes a different front bumper cover, the rear wing, fiberglass trunk lid and block off plate for the third brake light. On Aero kit one cars the third brake light is in the wing.
