Engine side vent types
1 Attachment(s)
The engine side vents on my 2003 Boxster side vents sit on top of the sheet metal, some others that I’ve seen fit nicely inside of the body. I’m guessing this is an “early vs late” vent thing. If this is so, can these be interchanged? I’d like mine to be more recessed. I’m ok with a little judicious body modification to make it work. What do you think?

Likely they can. I swapped out my "deep" vents, which I believe are stock... for the turbo vents, or something along those lines.

Keep it stock and leave it alone.

My 2000 has 1 of each LOL. My guess is a previous owner replaced one of them with the wrong style

Left and right side are different, at least on a 2004

Update. I installed a pair of early vents in the 2003 and they fit perfectly. I’m pleased with the more streamlined look. Thanks for the constructive comments.

I have a 98 and put the new style on my car. I have a set of the old style in arctic silver if you need a set.

BTW, I’m working on adding a single horizontal splitter 911 style. Similar to the pic below. I’ll post a pic when I’m closer to done. |
