200,000 Boxsters Produced

Guess the 200,000 mark was just passed for Boxster Production. Wonder if the customer gets anything special out of the deal.

funny how this was mentioned in the press release

"The Boxster line, which now includes the fixed-roof Cayman variant."

Hi,

It seems that the Cayman production numbers are being mixed with the Boxsters'.

So while I have not seen distinct numbers on each type, I would estimate that at least 15,000 of those 200k were Caymans (maybe more). So actual Boxster production is really in the 180k-185k range since '96...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

The Boxster and Cayman are each 987 models.

Porsche markets the Cayman S as a different car than a fixed roof boxster S to justify the higher asking price. Alot of feeble minded buyers/consumers fall for it too which is pretty funny because the boxster actually costs more to produce.

Anyone who thinks that the Cayman and the Boxster are not one and the same car (except for the top) should have their heads examined. Simply fascinating that this is even a subject for discussion.
