Dumb parking light wiring question

I'm assuming the black wire is neg. One of the others is for the parking light? Why 2 wires? What is the brown and gray?

The brown and black are connected, the gray is separate. What which would be the park light wire if the brown is ground? Why 2 wires?

Garage
The wiring diagrams have gray and black on the left side, but as a single wire. They all show only two wires total for the parking light. So a three-wire is leaving me scratching my head.

All halogens I've seen are like that. 🤷 I'm not sure why but I realized my problem. Sometimes I have to write it out to be able to think.
