Am I right

Hello forum members.
I have a 2003 Boxster base model 5 speed.
The 2 speakers on doors are barely audible (even with Fader totally on them).
After reading some post here I'm thinking the amp should be the problem am I right?
Any help would be much appreciated.

The door speakers are subs, not 2 way speakers. You wont hear them like the dash speakers.

If you hear anything at all then the amp isn't an issue

I just bought the car so I have not hear it before.
The sound is really bad do you think the subs are toasted?

Unscrew the grills on the dash speakers and see if the paper surrounds in the speakers are still intact.

My 99, the dash speakers disintegrated…. Door speakers were fine.

The quality of the sound is much better with a CD compare to radio.

The door speakers are not controlled by the fader.

Were you to add rear shelf speakers, then there would be something for the fader to do.

With the fader I can hear the dash speakers or the door speakers.
