I live in the middle of IL. Most people haven't even seen a Porsche before and they have to ask me what my car is. People here drive domestics but it's usually trucks and family sedans. Nothing like Chi-town.

The real news behind the Sky and Solstice is whether anyone will still need to pay $60K or so to get a real sports car. I know those two cars don't match a Boxster, but when you see BMW offering a Z4M in the $50K range, a loaded 335i with 300hp in the mid-40s, Honda probably introducing a new S2000 in the 30s and other sports cars coming along, you have to wonder whether there'll come a time when you're only buying a Porsche for the badge or for the track. Now, I know some will argue about quality and durability for the extra money, but when I read about the number of low-mileage Boxster engine failures, PCNA's customer-unfriendly behavior and the truly crappy service at some Porsche dealerships, I'm not so sure that holds water either.

Hi,

No arguement here... I think the Sky is really gonna be a hit once the Opel Sport Diesel is offerred which is supposed to happen in '08 for the US - will be offered in the Vauxhall for '07...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99
