It goes into gear, but won't move forward. I heard a pop sound - maybe I missed a shift?? - but I've missed shifts before over the years and never had this happen. It just won't move forward.

Thoughts??
What were you doing when you heard the pop sound?
Were you shifting gears????
Pushing clutch pedal in???
So it will not move as you let the clutch out correct????

At least once a year someone on the Forum has their axle bolts come out or break. Check if the axles are still connected to the transmission.

When I got under my 2002 S for the first time the CV joint retaining bolts were so loose I was able to turn them with my fingers. I now get under the car remove the reinforcement plate and check all bolts every year.
