I know it's done for aerodynamics, but why-oh-why do they have to excentuate the flat area around the wheel arches on modern cars? ALL cars do it now, from Hyundai to Porsche and I hate it. It's especially unwelcome on an Italian body in my mind.
I've seen a few Gallardos in person and they are surprisingly small considering how imposing they are. Congratulations.

Webster, those photos with the rains drops look really cool! Like the car is "sweating" after a hard sprint!

So what does the first service run on that thing? I have a buddy who collects Ferrari and some of his preventative maintenance service bills are about $4k-$7k depending on which car it is. Incidentally, he also has to ship his cars to Phoenix because there is no Ferrari dealership in Albuquerque, N.M.

Sigma, it's not bad at all. I believe the first service you have to pay for is at 10k miles.. and shouldn't be more than $1,500 tops. It comes with 2 years warranty. Unlike the Ferraris, you don't have to get the engine out to do major service. Which makes it all a lot cheaper.

I was at my Porsche body shop this weekend and they had a powder blue Gallardo spyder with matching powder blue wheels. Purty nice...
as for your budget car (boxster) and I guess the same applies for all canvas tops don't let any detailer wash the top with soap. Rinse only(frequently).
Use the Raggtopp Cleanser every other month if its outside every day. Spray the Raggtopp Protectant on it afterwards and reapply after each cleansing.
For drying don't use cloth towels. Get one of those absorber rubber towels from Pep boys. Works great on glass.
I use the lint roller when the neighbohrhood cat makes a visit.

A pellet gun is far more effective for keeping cat hair off your top. Of course, one's skill and aim is critical, but when I popped the neighbor's cat with a 2-pump pellet (10 would kill the cat, so I only pump it a couple of times) he never crawled back on our cars again... in fact, he avoided my side of the fence completely after that.
Another thread asks what books we've been reading... Here's mine:

Gee, Randall, guess you don't like cats, huh ?
BTW, my screen name is a combination of my first and last name, so please don't shoot me with the pellet gun
I prefer dogs myself !
