Looking for a new set of tires, wondering what your high end and low end recommendations would be!
205/50 r17
Currently on UniRoyals.

Just a 24 year old who does daily commutes to and from work with some in between travels, nothing special and no track days. (yet!)

If it is just a daily driver then whatever is in your budget. Of course if you need more of a rain tire or winter tire adjust accordingly.

Was under the assumption Mobil 1 is the recommended oil brand, not tires.

You don't really have much information in your post for people to give you their opinion on tires. Also, asking people's opinions on tires is the same thing as asking about oils, you are going to get many different opinions. It would be nice if people knew what you are looking for. All season tires, summer tires, etc, also your budget would help. I can't see your wheels clear but they look like Boxster S II. If they are, then that's a staggered set of wheels, front 7 inch et55 and rear 8.5 inch et48. So 205/50 r17 and 255/40 r17, a lot of people go with 225/45r17 at the front instead of the 205/50r17 to help with understeer.

To answer the question, I went with Goodyear F1 Asymetrical A/S. Quiet, decent wear, good grip in dry and wet and middle price range. And, oh yeah, Mobil 1 0W40.

An inexpensive tire for a car that I was getting ready to sell was Achilles ATR Sport. I didn't personally put a lot of miles on them, but they looked good driving away.

My 98 will arrive with Fuzion Touring tires in the OEM 16 inch size. My usual practice is to change tires when acquiring a "new" vehicle, on the theory that I don't know where the tires have been or what's been plugged, and how well. .

Does anyone have any experience with these? I think they are the economy brand of one of the majors.

This will be a once a week commuter car, 90 miles each way and hopefully some empty highway with some driving in the country. My preference is always Goodyear, if anyone has any suggestions. I'd like some winter rating also.

Look at Amazon. Lexani uhp 225/45/17 up front, 255/40/17 in rear. Dirt cheap, decent tires. Not for racing but will do just fine for a budget friendly daily.

I have had Nankang NS-25 All Season UHP on my 996 for 8 months now, and I am very happy with them. Do they perform as well as Pilot supersports or other Hi perf summer tires, almost.

I will buy them again without hesitation.

If the Cosmo MuchoMacho is available in your size, you almost have to go with it just based on name alone.

Frankly, I do not think anyone from USofA can advise on tires purchase in Europe.

They have way better line of tyres (winter and summer) and definitely lesser selection of "all seasons". Barely ever same models here are available across the pond.

On a side note.
I love the EU tire sticker telling you what grip is on wet, what is the noise level, and fuel economy. No such info in the USA... because who cares here.
