Hood emblem gasket

Hi guys,

I've done a search on this online but I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on getting this gasket on the crest. I did this years ago but I don't remember how I accomplished it. I made the mistake of taking my crest of and I can't.get.it back on. Thanks.

I'm not sure I have the right gasket for the 99355921100 emblem. If anyone has any information, I'd appreciate it.

Before you catch an attitude, I think I'm capable of seeing and clicking a link. The reason I didn't see anything is because I'm viewing the forum on my phone browser through mobile view and it doesn't display the link.

By all indications Starter had an attitude while still in his mother’s womb.

I think whatever rubber/plastic that gasket is made from may experience some kind of permanent shrinkage as it ages that can't be fixed by soaking in hot water. I had a similar experience a few years ago. One of the studs on the back of the emblem broke off as I was removing it to fix the gasket. I ended up buying a new gasket and emblem, and the hot water trick worked perfectly on the new gasket. Good luck!

Good point. I'm wondering if this "new" gasket I purchase has just been sitting around a warehouse and is harden to the point it won't expand 🤔
