986/986 S Rear axle diameter?

Hey all,

If you have a 986 or 986s with original rear axles could you please throw a micrometer/caliper on the rear axles and tell me what you get for diameter in mm and what year car you have?

Thanks!

Hey hpfiend, sorry I missed this question.

On my '01 986 S, axle diameter is showing 1.08775. I'm estimating the final two digits of the 1.08775, as it is falling between 1.087 and 1.088, favoring toward 1.088. Attaching a pic. Perhaps they're 27.5mm plus coating and user error?

I had a feeling there was a machinist somewhere in the picture! Cherish it.

Does anyone have a measurement on 2003 or 2004 Boxster S axle diameter?

Every 2000-04 six speed axle I've seen looks the same. There's a difference with the 5 speeds but not the 6

Until 2003 axles on Non S were smaller after they increased the size to 1.35"
