987 CD player / navigation in a 986 ??

Hello everyone,

Apologies if the question has been asked before, I did a basic search but couldn't find anything.

I have a 2001 Boxster S Tiptronic fitted with the standard radio, climate control air con and CD holder.

I deal in Porsche parts and recently bought a 987 CD player / navigation from a customer and was just wondering if this could possibly fit easily and work in a 986.

Don't want to do huge modifications but as I already have the 987 unit would be nice to know if it would work

Nope, won’t physically fit. Also it runs on the MOST optical system for the amplifier and your ‘01 doesn’t.

That would work well in a 2004 SE.
