Why is it cheaper.....

......to buy from non sponsors? Example, I just bought a short shifter, clear headlight corners yesterday. Checked sponsors first, bought the stuff cheaper on e-bay. This isnt the first time either, just within the last couple of weeks purchased clear side marker lights from non sponsor because of price. Im all about supporting our sponsors but so far every single part has been chaper somewhere else and I have pretty big list of stuff purchaed to date. Lets atleast be competitive. Even price match and you can have my business.

I guess this was just a rhetorical question.

You are right about the prices, well except for the parts from Deluboz.

Well, how about this ...

If there are 10 potential vendors for a given product, the chance of any one of them having the lowest price is ... 1 in 10.

Call the sponsor and see what they can do...

I hope Todd from Epiq doesn't mind, but I will give you an example :

I needed a battery maintainer for my Boxster. I usually buy from Performance Products, but since I spend so much time on this forum I thought I should give one of our sponsors a try. PP has it listed for $71.96, Epiq for $74.40. I sent Todd an email asking if he could match their price. What he pointed out and I was not aware of is that Epiq charges $9.90 for shipping ( $84.30 total ) and PP charges $13.95 for shipping ( $85.91 total ). So obviously I went with Epiq.

So, my suggestions when comparing prices is look at the TOTAL cost not just the item cost, and contact the sponsor directly and see if they will work with you...

Just my $0.02 :)

Nick

How about this? Nothing that I've bought could have been purchased from a sponsor cheaper. So the 1 in 10 ratio goes right out the window.

You are free to shop price. No one expects you to buy from Sponsors but you can.

Freedom, I love it.
