Boxster Bumperetts???

What is the deal or am I totally lame (do not answer that)

I go to clean my car and when I get to the bumper and go to clean the "Bumperetts" (SP?) I noticed that someone had backed into it and cracked one.

So I go online to search to buy a set and for the life of me I can not find the part for sell.

Anyone know the offical name or part number?

Thanks

Have your tried calling Sunset Porsche (503- 641-8600) or Sun Coast? Sunset is open for a while still.

Sorry about the cracked bumperette...that sucks! Are yours painted to match the exterior? If not, send them to www.bumperplugs to get the royal treatment!!

No consequences, just a better looking rear end. I did it to mine and after removing them, I made a cover to go over the hole left behind by the bumperrettes.

They are called Buffers in the PET and the PN#s are:
  • 986.505.425.00 (Lt.)
    986.505.426.00 (Rt.)

For MY >'00 change the last 2 digits from .00 to .01

No they don't, the license plate light is recessed into the Bumper Cover.

What these buffers do is provide some minimal rear collision protection to the Bumper cover, definitely under 5mph. Without them, you're likely to have to repair/replace the Bumper cover is some circumstances where it would otherwise be unecessary, and these buffers are quite a bit less expensive than that kind of repair.
