Reattaching Fuel Door

Videos aren't touching on HOW to actually reattach a fuel door:

I've got the new hinge and I can attach it to the covers and I know how the hinge clips into the body.

The Spring clip. Is this attached BEFORE attaching to the body or AFTER?

If I try to attach it before, it loosens off of the hinge (if I test it in my hand) so I'm wondering how this spring clip should be installed. If anyone has video links or pics - I'd appreciate it. My searching is not turning up anything.

Thank You!

Been a number of years but if I recall correctly it's best/easiest to attach hinge w/ spring to body first. Then attach cover second by sliding down onto new hinge...

Good luck

Good to know! I'll give that order a try.

Much Thanks!
