I know I’m resurrecting an old thread but I have a 996 gauge cluster in my 986 and I want to sync up the mileages. The Aurelio Mk808 does not do Porsche mileage changes.

I bought an eeprom reader but I am having a hard time making it work. I connect the clip to the chip on the board but nothing happens on my computer. I bought a cheapo chip programmer on Amazon and I wonder if I don’t have what I actually need or if I am just doing it wrong.

What chip programmer hardware is good? Do I need a program for the computer to read and write values? From what I was reading in the Amazon page it seems like the seller is saying once it detects a chip the app should just pop up but I didn’t install anything special.

This is what I tried following and didn’t have any luck. https://rennlist.com/forums/attachments/boxster-and-boxster-s-986-forum/1304533d1559093466-cluster-upgrade-working-with-the-eprom-on-porsche-boxster-illustrated-old-and-new-style-clusters-minimum.pdf

Both Boxsters I need to do are late-style cars, a 2001 and a 2004.

I super appreciate the help, thanks!
