Wet Driver Side Footwell

I live in the PNW and it rains a lot. The other day after a large storm I went to my boxster and the DS footwell carpet was wet. I pulled my car into the driveway, took out the seat and pulled up carpet out to dry. Then I checked my drains (all clear) and inspected the vapor barrier in the doors (all good). Today after one week of sitting under a waterproof car cover, I went out to my box and found some traces of water near the accelerator pedal. I am seriously confused. Any ideas?

I hope that the water does Not come from your heater core, as these are a bear to replace..

PS: have you taste it, to determine if tastes (or smells) like antifreeze..?

Hmm I didn't consider this. It's definitely water. The car has been sitting for a week and hasn't been turned on because the seat is out. I can investigate further though.

Garage
Look around the battery tray. There are drains up there that could be clogged. That would leave the area holding water.

I got water up in that area of the footwell on the passenger side years ago on a 98 Box...checked front drains and condensate lines but all were clear. Ended up coming from passenger side of the top tray that had a small tear. I pulled carpet out and found the leak. Water collected all the way up front and soaked into the foam padding like crazy!

Update: Cleaned my drains, hosed down the car and no water came through? I don't know at this point. Still fighting the battle on the rear drains and their random decisions to leak. I am going to invest in the immobilizer case as a precaution. Also FWIW, I took my seat out and didn't turn on my car which did not trigger the seatbelt light.

How about your window seals... windshield and driver side window. Water follows the path of least resistance... so be certain to hit the windshield on the passanger side as well.

If already you've tried that method... I've got nothing.
